How the test works
Type each displayed numeric record exactly as shown, then press Enter to submit it. A new record appears immediately. Backspace is allowed, so you can correct an entry before submitting it.
The test clock starts when you enter the first valid numeric character. Pausing stops the active clock and disables the entry field until you resume.
Number formats
Whole Numbers uses digits only. Decimals adds a decimal point with two trailing digits. Mixed presents both whole-number and decimal records.
Entry Length controls the number of digits in each record: Short uses 5–7 digits, Standard 8–10, and Long 11–13.
Scoring
- Gross KPH: converts entered data characters plus one Enter keystroke for each submitted record into keystrokes per hour.
- Accuracy: compares each submitted entry with its target. Missing, extra, and incorrect characters count as errors for records you submit with Enter.
- Net KPH: is Gross KPH multiplied by your character accuracy.
- Perfect Entries: counts completed records with every character correct.
- Longest Correct Streak: is the largest number of perfect records entered consecutively.
If time expires before you press Enter, the characters already entered still contribute to Gross KPH and Accuracy, but the current record does not count as submitted and does not change your correct-entry streak, even if every character has been typed. Untyped trailing characters are not counted as accuracy errors.
Keyboard controls
For a meaningful 10-key score, use the physical numeric keypad on a full-size keyboard or an external keypad. A laptop number row or on-screen keypad can operate the test, but those results are not directly comparable with physical 10-key entry.
Press Enter to submit each record. Press P to pause or resume when the entry field is not active, and Escape to end the test.
