Objective: Translate as many symbols into digits as you can before the timer runs out, using the symbol–digit key shown at the top of the test.
How it works:
- A key at the top pairs each symbol with a digit (for example, △ = 1)
- One symbol appears in the center of the screen at a time
- Tap the matching digit button, or press the number key on your keyboard
- The next symbol appears immediately — keep going until time runs out
- Your score is the number of correct answers; wrong answers count against your accuracy
About this test:
- This format is based on the Digit Symbol Substitution Test (DSST), one of the most widely used measures of cognitive processing speed
- The symbol–digit key is shuffled every session, so you cannot memorize it between runs — each session measures fresh lookup speed
- The standard duration is 90 seconds; use the same duration and symbol set when comparing your results over time
