🎯 Hand-Eye Coordination Test

Precision · Intercept · Tracking
⚡ Quick Start
Hit the teal target as close to the centre as you can — speed and accuracy both count
In the tracking drill, keep your cursor (or finger) inside the target while it moves
Full Battery gives you a coordination score out of 100 plus your time on target — or run any one drill on its own
⚙ Advanced Settings
Drill 1 of 3 — Precision Tap

Put your cursor on the target — on a touch screen, hold your finger on it and follow
Get Ready
Hit the teal target as fast and as centrally as you can.

📖 Detailed Instructions

What this test measures: how quickly and how accurately your hand follows what your eyes see. Three separate drills each stress a different part of that link. The two tap drills combine into one coordination score out of 100, and the tracking drill is reported beside it as your time on target.

Drill 1 — Precision Tap: a teal target appears somewhere in the arena. Click or tap it as fast as you can, and as close to the white centre dot as you can. Both the time you took and how far your hit landed from the centre are recorded. If you do not hit it in time, the target counts as a miss. A press anywhere else inside the arena also counts as a miss and ends that target immediately, so commit to the target rather than tapping to test the timing.

Drill 2 — Moving Intercept: the target now travels across the arena and bounces off the walls. You have to lead it and hit it while it moves, which adds anticipation to the same speed-and-accuracy demand.

Drill 3 — Continuous Tracking: the target drifts along a smooth curved path. Keep your cursor inside it. On a touch screen, keep your finger down and follow it. The score is the percentage of time you stayed on target — the target glows gold whenever you are on it.

Red decoys: turn these on in Advanced Settings for a go/no-go version. Hitting a red circle counts as a miss and costs you points, so you have to check before you strike. Decoys stay still while the Moving Intercept target travels, so the two can cross — when they do, the teal target is drawn on top and it is the teal target your click registers against.

How the score works:

What the score is not: the 0–100 number is Cognitive Train's own internal scale for this test. It is not a percentile and it is not a comparison against a measured population, so treat it as a personal benchmark to beat rather than a ranking against other people.

Getting a fair reading: use the same device, difficulty, and settings each time you compare. A mouse, a trackpad, and a touch screen produce quite different numbers, and targets are sized larger on small screens so they stay tappable, so treat each device as its own baseline. Each saved result records the settings you used and whether the input was a pointing device or a touch screen — it cannot tell a mouse from a trackpad, so stay on one device when you compare.
