📊 Higher Lower Game

Objective: Two items are shown side by side. The value on the left is revealed. Decide whether the item on the right has a higher or a lower value, then keep the run alive for as long as you can.

How to Play:

• Read the question above the two cards. It always compares the right card against the left card.
• Press Higher if you think the right value is bigger, or Lower if you think it is smaller.
• Keyboard controls: Press H for Higher or L for Lower during a live round. When either answer button is focused, you can also use Up/Right for Higher and Down/Left for Lower.
• A correct guess adds one point and extends your streak. A wrong guess costs one life and resets the streak to zero.
• After most correct guesses in a single category, the right item becomes the next left item. If no new same-difficulty comparison is available, a fresh pair is drawn instead. After a wrong guess, a fresh pair is drawn. In Mixed mode a fresh pair is drawn every round so the units always match.
• Your best streak is saved separately for each category and difficulty, so Easy, Medium, and Hard each give you a distinct record to chase.

Settings:

• Category: Play one topic or let Mixed rotate through all of them.
• Difficulty: Easy pairs values that are far apart, Medium uses a moderate gap, and Hard allows values that sit close together.
• Lives: One life is the classic survival format. Three or five lives keep longer runs going.
• Advanced: Change the count-up reveal speed, add a per-round timer, or cap the game at 10 or 20 rounds.

Tips:

• Anchor on the revealed number first, then ask whether the second item is in the same league or a different one.
• Order of magnitude matters more than precision. You never need the exact figure, only which side of the line it falls on.
• When two items feel equally plausible, favor the one you have seen ranked in lists before. Familiar items usually sit near the top.
