Spacebar Test Complete!
📘 Detailed Instructions
How the Spacebar Speed Test works
Select Speed Test and choose a duration. After you start the session, the clock begins with your first valid Spacebar press. Keep pressing until time runs out. Your final CPS is the number of valid presses divided by the selected duration.
Each physical press must be released before the next one. Holding the Spacebar down does not inflate the result because automatic keyboard repeat events are ignored.
Spacebar Counter mode
Free Counter removes the timer and simply counts valid Spacebar presses until you finish. Use it when you want a plain spacebar counter rather than a timed speed score.
Results
- Spacebar CPS: average valid presses per second during a completed timed test.
- Total Presses: every valid separate Spacebar press recorded during the session.
- Peak 1-Second Pace: the largest number of valid presses recorded within any rolling one-second window.
- Consistency: how evenly your presses were distributed across the timed run. It is shown only when there is enough data for a useful comparison.
Keyboard and touch controls
For a true spacebar score, use a physical keyboard. On a touch device, you can tap the large virtual Spacebar to operate the test, but a touchscreen tapping score is not directly comparable with a physical-key result.
Press P to pause or resume a timed session after the clock has started. Press Escape to end the session without saving a result.
