What this is: A three-part observation challenge that measures how much your eyes actually take in. Every trial is generated fresh, so no two runs are the same.
The three tasks:
- Odd One Out: A grid of colored squares where one is a slightly different shade. Tap it within the time window (8–12 seconds, longer for bigger grids). Grids get bigger and differences get subtler as you go.
- What Changed?: Memorize a set of pictures. They briefly disappear — and when they return, one has changed. Tap the changed one.
- Quick Count: A scatter of mixed items appears for a few seconds. When it vanishes, answer how many of the target item you saw.
Scoring: Each correct trial earns a point; your Observation Score is the percentage across all trials, with a breakdown showing which of the three skills is your strongest. Later trials are deliberately harder — subtler shades, more pictures, shorter viewing times.
Tips:
- For the shade grids, soften your gaze and scan the whole grid at once — the odd square often "pops" in peripheral vision
- For What Changed?, name the pictures to yourself while memorizing; the missing name jumps out on the reveal
- For Quick Count, count targets in clusters rather than one by one — and don't let the decoys pull your eyes
