About this test: This comprehensive ear training test evaluates four core aspects of musical hearing. Each section adapts to your skill level — answer correctly and the difficulty increases; struggle and it adjusts down. You need 3 correct answers in a row to level up.

Part 1 - Pitch Discrimination:

You'll hear two tones played in sequence
Decide which tone is higher in pitch
Difficulty ranges from 20Hz difference (most people can hear) to 2Hz (professional level)

Part 2 - Interval Recognition:

You'll hear a reference note followed by a second note
Identify the musical interval between them (e.g., Major 3rd, Perfect 5th)
Difficulty increases by adding more interval options to choose from

Part 3 - Melody Discrimination:

Listen to two melodies played in sequence (one play only)
Decide if they are exactly the same or if one note is different
Difficulty increases with longer melodies (harder to compare)

Part 4 - Rhythm Timing:

Tap the circle to start, then tap along with each beep during the countdown (4, 3, 2, 1)
This helps you find the tempo — these taps are not scored
Scoring begins when the circle shows "TAP" and continues for 20 beats
Your timing accuracy is measured in milliseconds
