Original vs. Copy — spot the mismatch
Objective: Each item shows a record twice — an Original and a Copy. Your job is to decide, as quickly as you can, whether the Copy reproduces the Original exactly.
How to take the test:
Difficulty levels:
Scoring: Accuracy is the percentage of items you judged correctly. Average check time and checking speed are both worked out from the total time the clock was running, divided by the records you answered, so time spent on a record you never finished still counts against your rate. The clock holds during the pause that shows you the answer, so that pause is never charged to you and the whole time limit stays available for actual checking.
If the time limit runs out before you reach the end, the run is reported as an incomplete one: Score still shows your correct answers out of the full test length, Records attempted shows how far you got, and the accuracy figure is relabelled Attempted Accuracy because it covers only the records you reached. The record breakdown likewise counts only the records you checked.
Errors caught and false alarms split your accuracy into the two ways checking goes wrong. Errors caught is how many of the faulty records you flagged; in Name the faulty field mode a record only counts as caught when you named the correct field. False alarms is how many clean records you wrongly flagged as faulty. Someone who flags everything gets a perfect catch rate and a poor score, so the two numbers only mean something read together. The breakdown below them shows how you did on clean records and on faulty records separately.
