What this result means

Using your result

    This is an original evidence-informed self-assessment, not the standardized Morningness–Eveningness Questionnaire (MEQ) or Munich Chronotype Questionnaire (MCTQ). The 0–100 result comes only from the 15 preference questions. The four schedule questions create a separate approximate sleep-timing profile from a representative time within each selected range. Age, recent sleep, light exposure, and schedule demands can shift either profile.

    What chronotype means: Chronotype describes where your natural daily timing falls on the morningness–eveningness continuum — including when you prefer to sleep, wake, think, exercise, and wind down.

    How to answer: Questions 1–15 ask about your natural preference. Imagine several normal nights of sleep and a day with no alarm, appointment, school, work shift, or family obligation. Questions 16–19 ask about your real schedule. If you do not have work or school days, use days with a fixed morning obligation; if your schedule is the same every day, choose the same times in both sections.

    How this test was designed: Established chronotype tools use two major approaches. Morningness–eveningness questionnaires assess preferred timing and alertness, while sleep-timing questionnaires compare actual sleep on obligation days and free days. This Cognitive Train test uses original wording informed by both approaches; it does not reproduce either instrument.

    Scoring, fully transparent:

    Privacy and history: No login is used. A completed result is stored only in this browser so you can compare recent runs. Ending the test early returns to the start and saves nothing.
