📘 Detailed Instructions

The Sprint Start Reaction Test simulates the explosive start used in track sprinting. It measures how quickly you can respond to the "GO!" signal after the set position.

How it works:

  • On Your Marks – Get ready, the sequence has begun
  • Set – Prepare yourself, "GO!" is coming soon
  • GO! – React immediately by clicking or tapping

False Starts: In real sprinting, reacting before the gun is a disqualification. Here, clicking or tapping before "GO!" counts as a false start and that trial won't count toward your average.

Metrics explained:

  • Best Time – Your fastest valid reaction
  • Average – Mean of all valid reactions
  • Variability – Standard deviation (lower = more consistent)
  • False Starts – Times you jumped the gun

Tips for improvement:

  • Focus on the color change, not trying to predict timing
  • Stay relaxed during "Set" – tension slows reaction
  • Use the same finger/hand position each trial for consistency
  • Elite sprinters react in 120-160ms range
