Each set shows several sentences one at a time. For every sentence, decide whether it makes sense or is nonsense — this forces you to actually read while a timer runs.
Each sentence contains one gold highlighted word. Keep those words in mind while you keep judging sentences.
When the set ends, rebuild the list: click the gold words in the order they appeared.
Recall a full set correctly and the next set gets one sentence longer. Miss it and the next set gets shorter. Your Reading Span score is the largest set you recalled perfectly.
Scoring:
Reading Span: the highest set size you recalled without errors.
Words Recalled: the percentage of gold words you placed correctly across the whole session.
Sentence Accuracy: the percentage of sense/nonsense judgments you got right. Low sentence accuracy means the word scores may overstate your span, because it suggests you skipped the reading part.
Settings:
Time per Sentence: shorter time limits increase the processing load.
Extra Words in Recall: when on, the recall list includes words that never appeared, so you cannot rely on recognition alone.
