About this test:

The Reading the Mind in the Eyes Test (RMET) measures your ability to identify complex mental states from the eye region alone. This skill is a key component of "theory of mind" - the ability to understand what others are thinking or feeling.

How to take the test:

• You will see 36 photographs showing only the eye region
• For each image, choose the word that best describes what the person is thinking or feeling
• You may feel more than one word applies - choose the one you consider most suitable
• Read all 4 options before making your choice
• Try to work quickly but accurately

Understanding your score:

• Scores range from 0 to 36
• Average score is typically 22-30
• Higher scores indicate stronger ability to read mental states
• This is not a diagnostic tool - it measures one aspect of social cognition
