⚠️ Keyboard Required: This test uses Z/V keys or arrow keys (←/→)
⚠️ Practice mode results are NOT recorded. In real test mode, arrow positions change randomly to properly test cognitive control.
⚡ Quick Start
➤You'll see 7 arrows appear on screen. Your task is to identify the direction of the center arrow while ignoring the surrounding arrows.
➤Press Z or ← if the center arrow points left. Press V or → if the center arrow points right.
➤Sometimes all arrows point the same direction (congruent trials). Other times, surrounding arrows point the opposite direction (incongruent trials) to test your ability to suppress interference.

Detailed Instructions
⚠️ Keyboard Required: This test uses Z/V keys or arrow keys (←/→)
Click/tap the test area to begin.
You'll see 7 arrows: ←←←←←←← or →→→→→→→ or mixed patterns.
Your task: Respond only to the center (middle) arrow direction.
Press Z or ← (left arrow key) if the center arrow points left (←).
Press V or → (right arrow key) if the center arrow points right (→).
Ignore the surrounding arrows! They are distractors designed to test your focus.
Congruent trials: All arrows point the same way (easier): ←←←←←←←
Incongruent trials: Side arrows point opposite to the center (harder): →→→←→→→
Press Esc or Space to pause/resume at any time.
The test measures sustained attention, interference control, and the Flanker Effect (RT difference between congruent and incongruent trials).
A smaller Flanker Effect indicates better cognitive control and the ability to ignore distractions.
Note: This version uses 70% incongruent trials and 7 arrows for enhanced cognitive challenge.
