Popular culture files this work under boring; cognitive science would file it under demanding: sustained precision, applied to dense numerical information, where the one item that matters looks almost exactly like the thousands that don't.

Bookkeeping automation and AI now handle much of what junior accountants once did by hand — data entry, transaction categorization, first-pass reconciliation matching.
