What is Binairo?
Binairo (also known as Takuzu, Binary Puzzle, or Binary Sudoku) is a logic puzzle played with just two symbols: 0 and 1. Despite the simple ingredients, three interlocking rules create surprisingly deep deduction: every row and column must contain an equal number of 0s and 1s, no more than two identical digits may sit side by side, and no two rows or two columns may be exactly the same.
How to play:
- Choose a grid size and how many puzzles you want to solve, then click Start Puzzle
- Tap or click a cell to cycle it: empty → 0 (white) → 1 (blue) → empty
- Cells with a gold ring are fixed clues and cannot be changed
- The puzzle completes automatically the moment the grid is filled correctly
Core solving techniques:
- Pairs: Two identical digits together force the opposite digit on both sides — 1 1 must become 0 1 1 0
- Gaps: A gap between two identical digits must hold the opposite — 1 _ 1 forces a 0 in the middle
- Counting: When a row or column reaches its quota of one digit, all remaining cells take the other digit
- Line comparison: On nearly complete lines, check the no-duplicate rule — if finishing a row one way would copy an existing row, the other way is forced
- Every puzzle here is generated with exactly one solution
Scoring:
- Total Time: Active solving time — pauses between puzzles are excluded
- Avg per Puzzle: Total time divided by puzzles solved
- Hints Used: Each hint fills one correct cell — fewer is better
