The 15-Puzzle (also called Gem Puzzle or Sliding Puzzle) is a classic puzzle invented in 1874. The goal is to arrange 15 numbered tiles in a specific order by sliding them into the empty space.
How to Play:
Click any tile adjacent to the empty space to slide it
Only tiles directly next to the empty space (up, down, left, right) can move
Arrange all tiles to match the selected goal pattern
Goal Patterns:
Row by Row: Numbers flow left-to-right, top-to-bottom (1-2-3-4, 5-6-7-8, ...)
Column by Column: Numbers flow top-to-bottom, left-to-right (1-5-9-13, 2-6-10-14, ...)
Tips: Work on solving one row or column at a time. The last two rows are trickiest - learn the rotation technique to move tiles without disturbing solved areas.
